I have always enjoyed creating small sculptures out of various materials to express myself creatively. My work in ceramics began in high school and I spent 3 years learning sculpture techniques. When I took an Experimental Sculpture class at the Otis College of Art & Design, I found myself intrigued by the possibilities of other media. Now I have progressed to working with wire, concrete, wood, paper and anything else I can get my hands on to create new works.
Currently, I am exploring the idea of personal biases in how people view current controversial issues. My goal is not to suggest what opinion a viewer should have about a topic, but try to challenge the viewer to recognize their biases and consider another point of view.
I am currently an honors student at Orange Lutheran High School. In addition to involvement in the Art Academy at the school, I am in student government and on the golf team. I am an avid follower of current events, and love to learn about and discuss history. I look forward to pursuing my interest in politics and the economy at a university in fall 2022.
